University of Miami Advanced Documentary Production:
Fall 2023

​Werner had the opportunity to work on a huge passion project in the fall of 2023 as a part of her advanced journalism production class at the University of Miami School of Communication.

In high school, Werner volunteered with GiGi's Playhouse Inc.- Down Syndrome Achievement Centers in Annapolis, Maryland as an assistant dance teacher. When she found out there was a new GiGis Playhouse in Miami, she immediately knew she wanted to do a story on it.

Werner followed around families and activities at the playhouse for two months to put this documentary together.

Columbia

Columbia University Summer Film Intensive: Summer 2019
Simone Werner directed and produced this short and cheesy, satire film called "Columbia" with a group of five other students. ​

NFTY in Israel Summer Highlight Reel

In the Summer of 2018, Simone went on a trip with URJ Camp Harlam for five weeks. The group started in Europe and then flew to Israel after we spent a week in Europe. Simone made a montage of the breath-taking sights we saw over the course of the five weeks away from home. Filmed on iPhone 5.​

Maryland Technology Student Association Films

Simone worked with a classmate to compete in the MD TSA On-Demand Video Category at the state conference. Their team received first place for a short film in 2018 and third place for another short film in 2019.
